Hi Alphas,
Welcome to Alphaday 12. The season is still in full swing as the lively conversations following the phobia challenge and other events last Alphaday clearly show. I’m probably repeating myself when I say that while our common focus is our interest in writing, as individuals we’re such a varied bunch that our opinions often differ widely. As a result it can give us as much pleasure to disagree as to agree. It would be quite boring if we didn’t have people expressing their views freely to see how others react. As somebody said, we’re in a safe zone where everybody’s point of view matters and we enjoy listening to the variety that’s so amicably engendered in this lively group of ours.
Today’s agenda shows signs of trailing off. Our Alpha team has nevertheless prepared the following items which I believe will provide you with both enjoyment and food for thought:
- This bulletin from me
- The results of the humorous challenge from CCG
- The Writers’ Reads compilation from Morgen
- The Log from Sally
Alpha is strong and full of enthusiasm and eagerness to discuss any aspect of writing. We want to give and receive help where we can and encourage the talent that’s lurking in our members. We all have our strengths (and perhaps some of those other things as well) and by pooling them together we get wiser and above all we motivate and stimulate the writerly spirit in us all.
The end of season party, our last Alphaday, will be in a fortnight’s time on the 26th of May. No deadlines for that one… except for me!
Christine
