Challenge 3

“What’s the worst thing that could happen to a writer?” Write a story of no more than 300 words. You decide. I say ‘story’ because I can’t see it working as anything else but let your fingers do the walking and talking.

Challenge 2

In this Challenge you have a theme — Darkness

You may write either a poem (without line-end rhyme) or a piece of prose, but there is a restriction: The writing must not contain any mention of humans. 

So no pronouns: I, you, he, she, my, their etc.

nor any named people, e.g. no Mrs Jones or John etc.

You may refer to things which imply humans eg ‘footsteps in the mud’, or ‘washing on the line’.

You have up to 300 words.

The Darkness can be literal or metaphorical.

Challenge 1

The first challenge of the season is to write the opening moments of a blockbuster movie, or a new TV thriller series or a stage play. Yes…this is a script writing challenge.

You can choose any genre, but the piece must be gripping. You’ve really got to entice your audience to want to keep watching. 

Your entries must not exceed 300 words, excluding any title.

1st place Joanne 17 marks, 2nd place Christopher 13 marks, 3rd place Morgen 10 marks.
